AWARDS AND NOMINATIONS

The New England Association for Cooperative Education and Field Experience (NEACEFE) presents awards for outstanding contributions to NEACEFE and to the advancement of the philosophy and practice of cooperative education and field experience programs. 

Each year a winner is chosen in the categories of Student, Service and Employer.

Named in honor of Dr. Kenneth W. Cedegren who was a charter member of NEACEFE, was on the Board of Directors as the Rhode Island Director, and was the Editor and Editor-in-Chief of the NEACEFE Newsletter for many years.

As an active member of NEACEFE, Ken was highly respected by friends and colleagues. Ken was the Director of Cooperative Education and Career Placement at Roger Williams College, Assistant to the Dean and Director of Institutional Research and Assistant to the Vice President of Academic Affairs at the college.

SIDNEY AUSTIN OUTSTANDING SERVICE AWARD

Named in honor of Sidney F. Austin, the "Founding Father of NEACEFE". In the fall of 1976 Sid organized a group of New England Cooperative Education directors and employers who were interested in fostering the development and expansion of cooperative education and field experience.

He was the first President of NEACEFE and under Sid's wise and principled leadership NEACEFE grew to become the successful and dynamic organization it is today. His concept and the tradition and spirit of the organization remain as vibrant today as it was when founded.

HERB ROBINSON

Award is named in honor of Herbert W. Robinson, an active member of NEACEFE since its inception. He served as President, Long-time Chairman of the Membership Committee, Member of the Awards Committee, Constitution & Bylaws Committee, Program Committee, Nominating Committee and numerous sub-committees and served on the Board of Directors for a number of years.

Herb has long championed the employer interests of NEACEFE by encouraging membership and programs of interest to employers. 


 

**All NEACEFE members are encouraged to nominate outstanding students, employers or members to receive an award. All nominations must be received by September 15th and will be reviewed by the Awards Committee. The Awards Committee will present their top 3 finalist to the Board for final selection.
